Bath Night and Crazy Hair!

Luke loves his baths! And even more, he loves to splash and have a fun time in the tub. The other night, Abe called to me and I ran in there, thinking something really wrong had happened, but no. He and Luke had styled Luke's hair, looking a lot like Rod Stewart meets Frankenstein. It was so silly and Luke was just giggling. See pic below, please no comments on the yellow tile in the tub. This is Luke's bathroom and we think the yellow tile is here to stay (for a few years at least!)

In other scoop, the results are in! Luke's 1 year checkup:
Height: 32" (+95%)
Weight: 22.6 lbs (40%)
Head: 18 (30%)

Doc said Luke was a busy boy and looking great!

And the flip flops are back....

During the weekend, our neighborhood got something like 5" of snow, however, I was not in town to see this lovely "spring" entrance. Instead, I was visiting my 'rents in West Texas...To my chagrin, I was pretty bummed when I heard the news of the snow, as while in West Texas, I was sporting the oh-so-famous flip flops....But don't fret reader(s)! I've pulled them out today. We were flipping and flopping all the way to the pediatrician's office. And boy, did I hear about those flops when I was checking out. The nurses were all commenting on the "loudness" of them and even Luke's doc mentioned them, asking me if my feet ever got cold. Um, no! They do not! My feet love the fresh air and free movement! I am elated that Spring is here and it's officially flop season in our house. Pedicure city, here my toes come! Happy Spring!

Swim Lessons

For the past couple of weeks, Luke and I have been attending swim class with a few friends and their kiddos. Oh what fun we have; splashing in the water and singing songs. It's so much fun and Luke is doing really well with it. We learned that he likes to be in the water and he does very well being under water. Last weekend was the first time he's gone under water (that I am aware of) and he did awesome. I am so excited for this summer as I know he will love being in our pool playing. I'll need to invest in some sort of stock that carries a line a baby sun block because if Luke is anything like me, he'll want to be in the sun ALL summer, but if he is anything like Abe, he'll burn to a crisp and be miserable for a week. Below is a pic from swim class where you can plainly see Luke copping a feel on sweet Alex. Graham is the cutie on the right.

Happy 1st Birthday to my Luke

Today, my baby boy turns 1! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by...it seems like just a few days ago Abe and I brought him home from the hospital, sat down on our bed, looked at each other and said, "now what do we do with him?" I am still asking myself that same question every now and then when he gets fussy because he has teeth coming in or when his tummy is upset. But I can honestly say, this last year has been one of the best years of my life. I've had the biggest cheering squad (my family) and a ton of support (both family and friends), and along the way, we've made some new friends! We are so grateful for everyone in our life and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Luke.

Happy Birthday my sweet bubs!
